What I used:
Plain yogurt, 1/4 cup sugar, part of a peach (cut up), strawberries, and spinach, ice, fruit juice (whatever you have). Honey and/or cinnamon are nice touches, as well.
All of these ingredients have more than one use. I've used the spinach in spaghetti, stuffed shells, salads, and now smoothies. The yogurt is plain, you can use it to make anything savory or sweet by adding other ingredients. The peaches and strawberries are fresh from the farmer's market that's a few blocks from my house. I'm planning on making peach and strawberry cobbler so watch for that post. Smoothies are healthy and affordable alternative for the trip you'd like to make to your local ice cream parlor or coffee shop. Save some money and eat healthy.

Strawberry-Peach Smoothies
Jun 2, 2011
I got a blender off craigslist the other day for 5 dollars so that I could make smoothies out of all the reduced produce I buy at the grocery store.

Golden raspberries
Bananas
Apple sauce
cranberry juice
yogurt

Basically any leftover/ a bit too ripe fruit can go in. Nothing goes to waste this way!
